Some of the risks we took as kids that I remember: seatbelts - huh?; bike riding at full speed with OUT helmets; kamikaze skiing at Edm Ski Club - sans helmet or protective gear; same experience with sledding - no helmets or protective padding; peanut butter every day; scratches, scrapes and bee stings were an expected part of summer; the list goes on.....</description>

		<description>I&#039;m with you all the way on that sentiment.  I found myself becoming somewhat overprotective also about a year ago.  But, allowing kids to do dangerous things is simply the way parenting used to be done before, as you say, we started bubble wrapping our kids.  That&#039;s definitely a book I&#039;m interested in.  And I&#039;m going to see that TED presentation right now.</description>
